In the village on the main road up the hill on the left is Massimo’s grocery store. It’s a small village store that has a little of everything but he does keep village hours.

There is a Pharmacy right next door to Massimo’s.

In Piano di Correglia there are two smallish supermarkets set back from the main road. There is also a good bakers, Panificio Da Mario bottom of the hill on the main road, turn left and it’s about 100 yards on the left.

There is a small but perfectly good Conad supermarket in Fornaci di Barga about four miles away and a bigger Conad in Gallicano about 6 miles away.

Finally, the best supermarket around is probably Esselunga on the road between Lucca and Correglia, it’s a couple of miles outside Lucca.

General

In Lucca just wander around but if you are passing pop into the wine shop Enoteca Vanni and ask to look at their cellars, it’s worth it.

There’s no shortages of places for a glass of wine or a spritz, either head to the larger piazzas or try this place Vinarkia Della Pavona della sophi, on Via Fillungo near to Porta Santa Maria.
